Australian winemakers Penfolds have a time-honoured tradition of finding the best grapes to make wine from the best regions worldwide, in their distinctive ‘house style’.
Their cellar consists of an impressive stable of wines made from Australian-grown grapes, but also those from California, France and China.
Now joining these ranks is a new Penfolds Champagne Cuvée Brut NV, made in partnership with family-owned Champagne House Théinot.
‘This is such an appealing Champagne,’ says Penfolds chief winemaker Peter Gago. ‘A perfect aperitif offer for Spring’ (and the rest of the year for that matter!).
Described as a ‘modern showcasing of fruit, freshness and finesse’, this NV Champagne Brut is made from grapes sourced from highly regarded vineyards across the Champagne region and the resulting blend is made up of 45 per cent Pinot Noir, 35 per cent Pinot Meunier and 20 per cent Chardonnay.
The launch of this special anniversary tipple coincides with Penfolds’ Champagne Rosé undergoing a refreshing pack re-design in line with the contemporary look for the Cuvée Brut — so they look just as good on your table and they taste in your glass!
Penfolds Cuvée Brut in collaboration with Théinot is available now, RRP AUD$79 for 750ml and AUD$180 for 1.5L.
