Despite being a new build, it was important that this Forest Lodge house felt like a home.Arkhaus director and founder Fernando Banales says ensuring the architecture offered both ‘liveability’ and ‘connection’ was a key focus when designing the new four-bedroom residence at 4 Coneill Place.
Built by Micrah Projects, the home is positioned in a family-friendly cul-de-sac on the border of Annandale Village and Glebe, with a sweeping, two-level floorplan – that stands in contrast to some of the small, narrow blocks of the surrounding areas.
‘Our vision was to create a dwelling that responds to the site and enhances the northern aspect of the lot,’ Fernando says.
A second-floor balcony on the striking facade makes the most of the street’s tree-lined canopy, while cleverly placed voids, skylights and expanses of glass windows frame calm, leafy outlooks in every room.
Inside, the design takes on a ‘classic modern approach’. Traditional materials like marble benchtops and timber joinery are combined with the convenience of smart-home features like automated lighting and blinds, in addition to sustainable elements like solar panels and an electric vehicle fast-charger.
The spacious living room offers both indoor and outdoor living, as sliding doors open to a lush backyard where you’ll find a swimming pool and undercover dining area.
Plus, with an enormous dressing room (that’s reminiscent of a designer store or ritzy hotel) linked to the main bedroom upstairs, the home has lifestyle and luxury allure in spades!
4 Coneill Place, Forest Lodge is listed with Ben Southwell and Matthew Hayson at Cobden Hayson and will go to auction on Thursday April 6 at 6:00pm.
