In a career spanning almost 20 years, Lisa Gorman has been at the helm of the Gorman brand. She launched the business in 1999 as a solo operation, and now, 19 years later, the company has 39 (!!!) stores across Australia and New Zealand, and over 200 staff.
Our conversation with Lisa is so inspiring – She is incredibly humble about her success, and still intimately connected to every aspect of the business. What is most refreshing, is that even after all these years, with so much growth and success, Gorman, is still very much a personal passion for Lisa.

Today Gorman has 39 stores, and Lisa mentions her first store in Prahran, opening in Melbourne’s GPO as well as popping up in LA as retail turning points for the brand.
Lisa’s label has a 10-year history of collaborations with artists, including Atelier Bingo, Mirka Mora, Miranda Skoczek, Monika Forsberg, Liz Payne, Dana Kinter and Elke Kramer to name but a few.
The brand has some devout fans, who’ve made popular swap-and-sell Facebook pages in its honour, and even a trending hashtag #showusyourgorman.
Gorman’s label-run social media channels include Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
A career highlight for Lisa Gorman is throwing her support behind the Vote Yes movement by handing out 5,000 free Love Is Love tees to people who were enrolled to vote.
