Hendrix & Harlow Creative Director, Myee Harlow, comes from a background in fine arts, whilst her husband Mark, a boat builder and boilermaker/welder by trade, heads up the furniture side of the business. These former Sydneysiders first met on holiday in Byron Bay in 2006. A year later, they packed up their respective clothing businesses, and drove to a new life in Byron.

Their label has gathered a huge following since launching in mid-2015, leading to the recent opening of a second store in Bangalow. This new flagship wasn’t planned, but when the perfect space came up (a sweet ‘cottage’ style shopfront) the Harlows couldn’t resist!

The new store brings together clothing and homewares by the pair and various collaborators, alongside bespoke furniture pieces designed by Mark. Merging contemporary minimalism with rustic natural materials, the furniture range brings together timber, concrete, leather and natural textiles. There are also oversized leather ottomans, as well as linen cushions and bed throws, and the pair will soon expand their range to include linen bedlinen and rugs.

Myee and Mark are endlessly inspired by the idyllic landscape of Byron Bay, and the lifestyle they have created here. ‘We chose to step off the treadmill of urgency… and away from chasing something ‘new’ and ‘better’ all the time,’ says Myee. ‘We care about the environment and the legacy we are leaving for our children and future generations.’
