Top Ten Australian Homes of 2016 · Poppy Lane, Scott Gibson + Family

Today we revisit another of our favourite homes on 2016 – the leafy, treehouse-like abode of Poppy Lane and Scott Gibson of Pop & Scott.

After spending many years living in Northcote not far from their business, Poppy, Scott and their young family moved to Eltham a little over a year ago for a change of scenery. In a short time they’ve created a very special home here.

The home of designer / retailers Poppy Lane and Scott Gibson of Pop & Scott is located in leafy Eltham, just a 40 minute drive from central Melbourne, and yet it feels a world away from the hustle and bustle.

It hasn’t taken long for Poppy and Scott to inject their distinctive personality throughout this rented home. The space is filled with their own creations, from Scott’s furniture to Poppy’s painted planters and woven lampshades, alongside pieces collected and traded over the years with talented friends including Dane Lovett, Bobby Clark, Amy Leeworthy and Jessica Blume to name a few.

For a couple that have spent many years living around the corner from work, the pair have welcomed the change of geography and pace with open arms. ‘We love that we get to drive a short distance from our busy workshop and showroom in Northcote and land in what feels like the middle of the bush!’ Poppy explains. ‘We feel a great sense of relief just walking through the door.’
