After sharing some shots of the new Pop & Scott workshop in Northcote yesterday, we thought it would be nice today to follow up with a tour of Poppy and Scott’s super sweet Collingwood cottage!
Poppy and Scott moved into this tiny Victorian house two years ago. With just one bedroom, an open kitchen / dining / living space, one bathroom and a pocket-sized courtyard, I think this might actually be the smallest house we have ever featured on TDF! However with it’s high ceilings, natural light and beautiful pale timber floors, the home feels so bright, generous and comfortable. Poppy and Scott have a wide network of clever creative friends, and this home has been known to host more than a few dinner parties and social gatherings! On a summery day, much of the entertaining happens outdoors in the leafy courtyard.
As I’m sure you’ve gathered since yesterday’s post, Poppy and Scott are a multi-talented team, so it’s no surprise their eclectic little pad is picture perfect! As a florist, Poppy loves to be surrounded by plants, flowers and vibrant colour, whilst Scott is a plumber by trade, and is equipped with many manly skills such as welding, carpentry and furniture making. (Who doesn’t LOVE a handy, creative man?!)
Between the two of them, Pop and Scott are always whipping up some amazing new piece of furniture or clever crafty project – in fact the dining setting you see here was their first collaboration. ‘The central void in the tabletop was originally designed for a herb garden’ explains Poppy. ‘We both love to cook and entertain, and somehow the plants came out at every party, inspiring an unusual party trick – our friends love seeing if they can fit their heads through it… we have many incriminating photos!’.
Poppy and Scott rent their home – another brilliant example of how clever styling and creative flair really can make even the most modest rental a truly gorgeous and highly personalised home.
BIG THANKS to Poppy and Scott for sharing the home and workshop with us this week!
