Tamara Watts first launched her business, Retro Print Revival, in 2009. Her retro-inspired fabric lampshades and re-conditioned vintage lamps quickly gathered a following, and with the growth of her business, Tamara was able to start producing her own locally crafted reproductions of classic mid-century lamps – such as the Rocket Lamp, one of Tamara’s longest standing best sellers.

This year, Tamara’s business takes another leap forward with a brand new product line – the Rocket Planters!

‘The Rocket Planters have been in development for a wee while now, I didn’t want to bring them out until I knew I had them down perfectly’ says Tamara. ‘I tried a couple of different materials and looks before I found the design that I truly fell in love with. Hopefully, everyone else feels the same way!’

It’s been a big year for Tamara. Alongside the launch of her new Rocket Planters, she’s also significantly expanded her collection of exclusive vintage-inspired fabrics this year, working closely with local textile designers to create her very own signature fabrics. ‘I am always trying to keep our designs as fresh as possible, pushing the boundaries of everything I create, and making a product that is made locally and made to last’ says Tamara. ‘If I can keep things fresh from a design standpoint, I can hopefully keep surprising people with the new ranges, and I can keep surprising myself as well!’

The Rocket Planter pots are made of fibreglass, with legs crafted from Tasmanian Blackwood (just like many of Tamara’s lamp designs), with a pure brass ring around the middle. Like everything in the Retro Print Revival range, impressively, the Rocket Planter is 100% made in Melbourne – which we LOVE!

To top off this epic spate of recent product development, Tamara has also recently launched a swish new website – do pop over and check it out!
